Sorry I don't think this a very good remix at all

It seems all you have done is taken the original track & add a very basic beat & bass line & added a sawtooth pad (and a poor one at that)

Be more creative, chop the track up rather then just keeping it exactly the same apart from the beat. add some more of your own stuff.
Go and have a listen to the Trifactor Remix. See what he has done to the track. It's much more creative.

Sorry if I sound Harsh there.

Ya i agree. I think you should chop it up and take out sum parts, Dont leave everything in.
I think that synth is kinda cheesy and empty sounding.

First thing to say, im not a proffesional remixer or music producer or DJ.
im 16, & this is my first remix on Reason..I used to work on ejay+Acid (yuk)... Now I started to learn on Reason 2.5..
so, im still a lil more +begginer.

Now. what about the synthsizers, I played on keyboard? the various style beats, some effects, the bass as u said, those are what? not a part of remix??

I respect ur idea..
but that doesnt mean at all, that this remix sux ! there is a hard work on it, & there are no technical problems..(like wrong notes or dunno what)
at least the local radios are playing it & im in a competition with tis remix.

& a remix is a free word...u can do anything u want, right? so why u should tell chop the track apart? maybe I wanted it this way

Anyway thanks for ur ideas, maybe in my future work I will "chop" the track..

Well I can't say I like it much either.
You have the most basic bassline and drums going on here, they might have worked 5 years ago but not anymore. The lead saw is horribly cheesy and the whole tune lacks in bass.

It doesn't help much that I absolutely hate the original too.

bengerman, thank you

Shepless, the competition will be soon..but nothing to do with this forum its on a Lebanese Radio station's forum (forum.radioonev5.com)

Mr.Mystery,
u said "they might have worked 5 years ago but not anymore", right?
let me tell u a logical answer:
5 years ago, I was 12 years old kid, nothing to do with MUSIC therm.
then im in Lebanon (middle east) where the clubbin experiance is going better this year...the years before 2003, there were no big events here such in 2003 (Oakenfold-Sasha,john degwid...came here)
so this means, what u heard "5 years" ago, im hearing in this years, same my communities around me. its still kinda fresh to me or us.
what d u think?

ANYWAY, I will be trying to get ur comments & try to make my future remixes better & better. some1 at least can start by this right? but continue better!

i think bren means basic in the sense of dull and lacks variation etc, but then bren would, as his productions r very technical and 'in-depth'

i wont take the piss or anything but im 16 as well, it doesnt really affect how well u perform in various sequencers, its knowing how to use them and get the best you can out of them, personally using reason...for a beginner isnt really recommended, most users use fruityloops or FLstudio 4 or whatever the hell its called now, my advice is pop over to the production studio, have a good read of the various topics discussed and then attempt again.
