stunning for a second track i like it
tho i think the kick could be stronger.
track as a whole seems to be lacking some low frequencies on my stereo. and you could have made the percussion a little bit more interesting, but you did really well! spent more time on producing man, at least never have a blank month
keep it up!

john

Right, let's see what we have here then...

Argh, that random fx in the intro annoys me greatly. Not only does it remind me of Right of Way but it also reminds me of them cheesy eighties shows where the robots and computers ALWAYS made such noise. I hate it! And it goes on for the ENTIRE tune... argh!

Now, on to the next thing.
I notice you have the same problem I used to have - hihats overpowering the kick and the bass. Some of the closed hats are so loud they'd kill my ears in a club. On the other hand you don't have nearly enough percs going on here which makes the tune drag. There's also some muddyness in the synths mostly because it seems pretty much everything in this has been done with a saw waveform...

I also think this tune is way too long for what it is, esp. when there is no distinct lead or a "huge" break.

There are good points too. The melodies are nice and the piano is a very nice touch to the otherwise samey soundscape. I think it could had been used some more.

I definitely like it more than what the comments above may tell you.

Oh dear. I have a feeling I'm gonna get slated pretty bad for this.

So THAT'S why I had that 'muddyness'. I really had no idea how to make it sound better, I just EQ'd and whatnot.

Thanks for the comments Nik. Much appreciated.

Hya!
Pretty nice tune you got there, I really liked the bass, it reminds me abit of the bass Yahel used in Voyage, which is a really good because its one of my favorite trance tunes. ļ
The melodies are really cool as well, loved the piano parts! although when the main lead comes in it sounds a bit distorted.
One of the tunes weakest points must be the percussion, the samples you used sound a bit flat and high, maybe try adding some more FX to them compressing your percussion can always help. More drum instruments would also make the tune more flowing. try adding some more drum samples and giving it all some nice effects that will make it sound fatter and more noticeable.

Overall great job , keep those tunes coming!

Hey Fundamental,

I just finished listening to your new track. I really having nothing new to add that Mr. Mystery hasn't already stated. I think he's right about the hihats. Also, at first I didnt mind the random FX he pointed out, but after a while I just got sick of hearing them. To be honest, to have them running through the entire song doesn't really add anything more to the song. So I would say take them out - not entirely if you like them, but dont run them the lenght of the song. I think if you just changed the song structure around a bit, maybe make more of a breakdown-to-build up it wont get so repetative. Because without something sort of like that, the piano kind of seems a little out of place when you introduced it (because everything sounds great together towards the end). Build some anticipation so I dont get bored! If you do change this up a bit let us know. I would be intriuged to hear how this progresses.
Good Luck!

for being the second track it sounds great man
god.. can't even stand to think about how my second track sounded.. hahahaha

much better bass in this one.. as i have already said... the kick is too low.. kinda get's drowned in the percussions...
or maybe just lower the percussions.. hehe

like mystery said, the lead is kinda muddy... you could always try and put another synth over it... kinda hard to hear it too.. need's to be higher

really like the piano
could be some more of it actually

and for next track maybe have a nice break
not that you really need one.. but for a track with this lenght it could be nice

good luck with your next track.. hehe

and yeah... the track really really suck's.. my 6 year old little sister can make much better track's then you can.. looooser

hehe.. kidding... or am i... hmmm

Kreing: Cheers for the technical pointers. Glad you found something you enjoyed about it. Will try and work on my percussion more for my next tune.

Hollen: Thanks for listening and posting your comments. If you are interested in how this track could progress, maybe you should consider doing a remix. I still haven't heard stuff from you yet!

Dantheman: Cheers mate, I'm sure your second track sounded fine. Glad you liked the piano bits. And once again thanks for your technical help (and your lovely lovely webspace. yum). Oh, and can you ask your sister if she wants to do a collab then?

Eleni: Thanks for taking the time to listen and post your comments! I will do the same for you in 6 months.
