Sounds heaps distorted mate. Is the kick pushing past 0dB.

At 1:49, I love that little breaks bit you did, sounded cool.

Melody is sounding really cool in the breakdown, but again, it all sounds distorted. After the breakdown, you have the little buildup which is cool, but after the build, you need to make sure that the main part of the song comes in with some energy. To me, it just sounded too similar to the breakdown. Try using the filters on the synth (in particular cutoff and amp decay/sustain) to build the synth out of the build up and have it come in hard.

Need to clean up the lower ends of the frequencies in the master channel. If you have a multiband compressor, then this would be ideal, if not just try and compress and eq it up a bit. also, run your track through and make sure that the clip light does not come on. If you have a wave editor, use this to normalise it at the end of the process to bring it up to -0.1dB.

Meldoy is nice and percussion is okay, but its too hard to say much more when its not clear sounding.

Thanks for the comments cheggy, as asual.

I thought I may of had a problem when I originally posted it, but think it must be down to the poor quality of my headphones (Only £20).

Have replaced the kick allready and am working on re-mastering,eq etc.

Am going to play about with a multi-band compressor. Any advise to a free vsti I can download?

Cant say much as the sound quality sucks. That snare is realy bodering me, maybe you should reduce the volume abit. Not so keen about the intro either. The Melody is actualy very nice! . The track needs abit more variation also. I think you should work on it abit more, maybe post a better verison = (sound quality) so we can be more specific .

Cheers.

Comments:

Kick could use some more high end to it, gets drowned out in the mix somewhat.

Good call on the panned percussions, but you need a lot more layers.

Bass sounds really distorted/clipping. Turn it down a bunch and filter the sound a little more, it's pretty messy.

Er, SERIOUS clipping at 1:39, this is getting painful in my headphones. You need to adjust the levels of stuff big time here.

Synth hook is pretty good, one of the better elements.

Pads are really nice too actually. Definitely the strongest point of the track thus far.

Main lead and melody is pretty nice sounding as well.

The oldschool breakbeat in there as a stab is cool too, hehe.

Overall it's hard to comment too much as the clipping is painful sounding, but the pads and lead are pretty good, like the MIKE feel to the track. Percussions need fattening up, and that bass needs to be totally redone.

Off to a good start.

Am very close to finishing this now.

Got everything sounding a lot more sweeter (on my headphones anyway, not studio tho (

Just got to the outro and a couple of tweaks and I'm done. Will probably finish later, and post around 3am in the morning.

That's good, because the ideas are definitely here, but there was so much distortion. Lovin the melody actually, very nice work - I like how you used the two different (but similar) melodies in the song, works well.

It's all about improving the overall sound now.

Yeah man, this is sounding sweet now. Cool synths and leads. You are definitely coming along quite nicely. The main lead after 4:45 is a bit loud though I think, and it's draining out the rest of the song.

Nice work mate.
