That's a good issue to discuss:

I play DnB (but I'll post on a trance forum cause I still like it)
and most Uk record stores will charge between 2-3 Pounds for shipping.

BreakBeat science.. which is in NYC.. charges 24 usd.


It usualy has to do with the size of the enterprise and their customer base.

Exemple: Red eye records sends out 20 000 records a week,
they don't mind using normal carrier mail that has 5% of their vynils come back broken. they make up for it with volume.

Breakbeat science can't afford to have 5% of their 5 000 shippings get broken, so they use extra safe mail.

a good place to get records without crazy shipping charges, i would say is www.djmr.com. its a record store in montreal with a pretty good selection of records, and is always updated. one problem i have had with this site is it might be a little hard to navigate once you start using it, but its not hard to get the hang of it.
