Intellectual property rights

When you write a song, the second it's written you have a legal intellectual property right to your production, be it art, music, writing, etc. etc. Does anyone have any experience in proving intellectual rights? What upholds in court? I'm a buzzer, so I am pretty confident that my original bmx/bmw formats would be proof beyond any doubt that I was the original creator of the music, simply because of the improbability of coincidence or recreation due to the modular system that buzz incorporates.. You could even compare the frequencies directly output from buzz, not to mention sequencing, synth voices, etc. My question is if by some chance, someone decided to steal my music, and (a big hypothetical here..lol) say I heard it being played at some USC production. They could bully my ass to kansas with more money that I've seen in my life with some shit-ass hollywood attourney. How would I have a chance in standing up to a somehting like that? Especially not having much money for a lawyer of any sort in the first place. In actuality I'm sure I could find a dozen lawyers that would take my case pro-bono because everyone would love to see something like this happen, and I would probably win with sufficient proof, and the lawyer would be well off as well with his 66% cut.. however, that is beside my point. My point is, how does a little guy defend himself from getting stomped on, aside from keeping all to himself everyhting he has ever written?

What I do, is package and ship my music to myself in federally certified parcels, I've heard that its's bulletproof in court.
