I went to a pawn shop yesterday when i noticed two turntables. they were near mint stantons with a denon mixer. each were priced @ 99.99 so i was wundering..are these a good buy. I didnt check their model..forgot to do that. but i want something to just start and get some practice on by summer hopefully ill get the techs..i have over 60 new vinyls waiting to be mixed. should i buy them for now??
sure, why not...better than nothing...and it will give u more incentive to save up for the techs...
the pawn shop owner could be a dumbass and not know what they are worth...better hurry.

not belt drive---if they were i wouldnt even have mentioned them..i will go buy them then...laters all and thnx for advice
I'd do a bit more research before just running out and blowing $200. Especially since you don't even know what model they are. But it's probably too late now.

If you buy the stantons, you'll have to wait longer to buy the technics. Unless, of course, you've got money raping you 24/7...in that case, the stantons'll prolly do you over for a while...till you begin to realize why they were in the pawn shop to begin with.

Make sure you start them up before you buy them, you really want to check to see if they maintain a steady speed or not before you buy them, belt drive or not. Check by making sure the dots on the side of the platter look like they're staying in one place.
Also, only get direct-drive. Check for overall not-being-shitty-ness. You know how it is. Doing some research would probably be a good idea.
Good luck.
