Publishing?

hey i was wondering how does publishing fit into EDM? Are there EDM song writers who JUST write songs out there and dont produce them? has any big EDM artist ever licenced a lesser know songwriters electronic song? how does that work? what would you do with it?, just make new synths to creat a original sound recording? does anyone know how the proccess works as it relates to the electronica industry? or is there anywhere i could go to find out?

thanks in advance

When someone creates a trance tune, they PRODUCE the whole thing...that is right from sampling the first beat of the kicks right down to EQing and Mixdown. There's very little that good trance producers need to have edited after they've PRODUCED a tune. So publishing a song simply means finding a publisher or label that will press it and promote it.

im refering to publishing the way the rest of the music industry uses publishing. publishers, the holders of the song copyright, can sell the rights to that song to artist to record. im wondering if that ever happends. is there such a thing as a song writting deal from a publisher to a electronica song writer? obviously producing and writing a trance song go hand in hand but, for instance, i know that Sasha didnt write or produce all the songs on Airdrawndagger. i forget the guy who did, but how does that work out? if the producer writes the songs they are his (unless its a work for hire) in which case Sasha recomes the recording artist?
