Considering upgrading to Pioneer DJM-300, opinions please?

I currently have the Stanton RM-3s mixer. It has plenty of knobs and kill switches, however, I have found that the faders go from really loud to almost non-existant sound much too quickly (when its at 7, I feel the sound shouldn't be almost off).

As much as I would like to drop a grand on a new mixer, it's just for a bedroom setup and currently I can't justify that expense. ONe of my friends recommended the Pioneer DJM-300. It interested me because Pioneer has a solid track record and it has a similar interface to that of the DJM-500 and 600, which is often the mixer found at our local clubs here in Milwaukee.

What are your opinions on this mixer? Would you consider it to be a significant upgrade over the Stanton RM-3s?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The Pioneer will have a linear fader so its a constant increase of sound on the faders, so if u really want that feature, keep it in mind. I personally think the DJM-300 is kinda over rated. It costs more than its worth cuz of the bpm counter which no one ever needs. I don't know wut the limitations on your current mixer is, but if u feel like upgrading, shell out a bit more and get a pretty decent mixer, or else in a few months u're gonna feel the need to upgrade again. Hope this helps

i use to own a rm3s and i know what your going through. It's hard to justify a expensive mixer but for the price range you wanna spend you can get a much better mixer than the pioneer djm300. It's a good mixer, but i really agree w/ beatsmith's post. It's just over-rated. I would seriously take a look at Ecler Smac Pro30. I know lots of ppl on other forums that own and use that mixer and they are in total love w/ it. I would of bought one except i went a little crazy and spent even way more on a rane empath. Still from having some time and experience behind Eclers i have to strongly recomend the smac30. It's not a empath but im sure youre gonna love it way more than that pos stanton rm-3s
