rouz - "after future" - techno/hardstyle

hey producers and listeners .

Just wrote this tune in the past 24 hours. still completing it but want to know what you think. all i ask is if you download to post a reply about what you think.

you can categorize this as something that mauro picotto would spin, i guess. A cross between techno and hardstyle - a little bit of hardcore influence. (if you can think of a better genre title let me know)

I took a sample from Afterfuture - Afterfuture (a tune on Spanish Labale "Star Whores") 'Recycled' it and put it in Reason along with some synths and drums and a lot of effects .

i'll try that out - i think i used too much resonance on the treble. still figuring out the audio engineering parts of reason

thanks for the input - i'll post a new version with some changes later

i used propellerhead software only (reason/recycle). i did most of the percussion filtering manually (using the knobs on my oxygen8 keyboard). glad you like it

Okay, sounding good. First thing I noticed was that the kick was a bit too loud in comparison to the rest of the mix. Percussion work was pretty solid but I thought it could have breen brought up a bit.

Was interesting how the use of a pad changed the entire mood of the song and made it sound a lot more relaxing

5:50 though, WTF, it doesn't sound right when you just get rid of all those elements and go back to pure percussion like that. It needs some kind of cover to move from one part to the other. Sometimes, using a filter can work well and just cutting right down to the lows, then kicking it all back in.

Overall, pretty cool track. I would classify it as techno. Pretty laid back though, I don't know where the hardstyle elements are.

thanks so much for your input. i'm going to work on all of that . this is exactly what i needed - negative and positive critiques - otherwise i wouldn't get anywhere.

you're right about the techno part - it was going to be a hardstyle piece until i decided i didn't want that many trance elements. I intended for the pads to make it sound relaxing - banging music with relaxing pads is my thing - glad you noticed it.
