Shure m-447 vs Shure m-447g

Alright, after about a month of reading about differant carts, I've decided on getting either the m447 or m447g. The "g" version has a tracking force from .75 - 1.5 grams, which seems insanely low, sounds like it'd be easy on the records. But, the regular m447 also has good numbers. I'm looking into these carts because I mostly spin trance, but I also do some scratching when I have the time. I figure the m447g might be the best comprimise between the two worlds.
Anyone here use one or the other ? It seems like noone uses the m447g, but I'd like a first hand opinion on it before I buy.

both are great cartridges. If your mostly gonna spin electronic music then totally go for the m44-g. The m44-7s are more of a turntablist cartridge and they seem to lack sonic clearity and smooth bass when compared to the m44-g. The m44g on the other hand, doesn't seem have as tight suspension and tracking found on it's brother, however it can hold it's groove very well and handle most turntabliist tricks. When comparing the m44-gs to whitelabels, i have to say i'm torn between the two. To me, the m44-g sound almost identical to whitelabels while holding it's groove better. The m44-7 do have one real advantage to the m44-g; the output on them is considerably higher than the m44-g.

I would take the m44-g for what your doing.

i have M44Gs and i absolutely love them. i had my tracking force set at 1.5 grams for the longest time and they would almost never skip. like really almost never skip. my only gripe about them is that i feel like they could have a touch more bass. i had (and still have) a set of groovemaster II RMs, wich had alot more bass. i turned up the wieght on my M44Gs to 2.25 grams and this helped the sound quality abit. i also have a set of M44-7 stylus' but i never use them because i dont scratch. they fit right in there though. if you order your carts from audiolines you get a free extra stylus. <--- just alittle FYI for ya.

I haven't used the m44 7g's so I really have no comparision, but I have used some whitelabels and ortofons....

You'd take m44's over the whitelabels then ?

m44g all the way... nice classic cart!!

if you can find it, the n44c (now out of production) is a nice compromise between m447 tracking/scratching and m44g sound qual.

it fits either cart. actually n44c, n44g, and n447 (the three stylii replacements) can be traded between any of the heads.
