Am I the only one who is VERY disapointed with Ferry's new CD? I mean there were some terrible songs on that CD. There were only a few tracks worth listen too. Are the robot vocals and 80's noices(which just blows to me) the future of trance? I sure hope not. Where u guys see it heading?

I thought his "Right of Way" CD was excellent, and this is coming from somebody who has said that Ferry's productions over the past year or so have sucked.
The album is very diverse with tracks that have sounds of uplifting, electro, ambient/chillout, and even perhaps drum & bass.

I kind of dig the sound but I agree that it is not the next direction of trance. It is good to see Ferry moving onto new territory and creating something different.
That said, F. Massif - Somebody (Ferry remix or otherwise) sucks giant monkey balls because the lyrics are so lame. I also don't like what Ferry did with the robo voice in his remix, it seems like the voice does not go with the track. I sort of wish someone would make dub versions of this track so I wouldn't feel like a schmuck spinning this. I keep thinking maybe if the lyrics had been in Dutch or some language I don't understand I would not have this problem with it Anyway, this is slightly off topic, though this F. Massif dude is making the similar sounds as Ferry is now.

I think Ferry is heading for the right direction with his innovations in Trance & I hope he continues that way. I mean atleast he is creating something different than say the typical kind of trance, ex. uplifting, melodic etc.
But I do agree that the robotic vocals that he uses are rather annoying like in his Conscious remix & Somebody.

Quite different indeed...
It took me a while to adjust to Ferry's new electro sound, tracks like Right of Way and he's remix of Somebody are awesome - its good to see Ferry making he's own sound and not fully sticking to the fluffy uplifting old trance formula. All the best to him.

well just cause hes been known to be a trance producer in the past doesnt mean he has to stay that way... hell tiesto use to produce hardcore/gabber before he did trance...
though maybe its completely differant from what everyone is use to im really liking it... it show diversity and originality which is a good thing...
and besides... hes not specifically making muzic to please everyone... he produces the style hes happy with... and if you dont like it then eh... hes happy so who cares

if it is the future of trance, why arent we hearing other artists come out with similar sounding tunes? would you agree that some artists might think that to go in that same direction would only mean being labeled as a ferry 'sound a like'. as much as i love the new sound, it almost seems like its dead in the water.

I love Ferry's new style and it's definately a style that isn't "empty" or repeats itself from previous years
