JamX and De Leon presents Chaos Pt1 - Das Lict (Re-Work)
JamX and De Leon presents Chaos Pt1 - Sexomatic (Re-Work)
So these are the new JamX and De Leon tracks. What can I say, thoroughly disappointing. Usually Dumonde tunes are fairly good, although their JamX and De Leon alias produce quite cheesy stuff.
"Das Lict" is harder (slightly) but seems to be completely lacking in melody. And they've used their typical, old-and-weary dumonde-style kick. "Sexomatic" is better, but only just. The second half just seems to be a bog standard, money-making attempt at a record. It has some nice chilled parts towards the end, but they are totally contradicted by the hard beat.
Some people will like them, but compared to previous tunes, these two really dont compare.
Das Lict: 4/10
Sexomatic: 6/10

These aren't even new tunes, they're reworks of their older productions. Haven't heard the new mixes but the old ones were good... Sexomatic in particular, released in 2000 I think.

I always liked Das Licht, and since they've hardly done anything with the original on this re-release, I still like it I've always preferred Dumonde's harder and experimental releases on Chaos (De Leon - Fate, Jam X - Warriors and this) to their uplifting tunes, which I just never got proper into.

Well I'm sure back in the day they could have stood their ground, but I still dont like them. What have they changed in the reworks?? 2000 is a little bit before my time (well, I listened to poop back then). Maybe I should hear the originals before I pass judgement and give them the Angry Thumbs Up
