So many favorites. They are legendary. Another good example of an act whose sound got less "cheesy" (and I use that term vaguely) as their career went on, yet got immensely more popular! AMAZING.
"Smack My Bitch Up" is definitely a killer track IMHO... what is it, some sort of bastard breaks? Whatever, it KICKS SERIOUS... awesomely catchy, the explicit but curiosity-inducing video too. And the recent Seb Fontaine remix only reaffirms this one in my book. So, I think that's going to be my favorite... if I had to pick just ONE. But it's hard.
"Breathe" is great too, I remember what being a vanguard of the Stateside "Electronica revolution" in '97... the MTV play it got, and that deep throbbing bassline -- so simple, yet so dirty and effective. The Wu-Tang sampled swords only served to highlight the angry vocals!
I'd have to say Liam Howlett and crew produced not only great singles, but great albums -- still a bit of a rarity in the dance music world. however I'm waiting for #4!!! Such a long wait!
