The closest airport from Lausanne is Geneva International Airport (GVA). EasyJet and all majors flight operators touch down in Geneva. It has regular flights to almost every single city in Europe and a few international flights. If you’re planning to visit us for clubbing or for boozing, here are some interesting facts.
Geneva is 60km away from Lausanne. Going by train from downtown Geneva to downtown Lausanne costs around 13€ single. Airport is 5 minutes away from downtown Geneva by train or 10 minutes away by bus. If you’re planning to stay in Geneva for one night or more, or in Lausanne, here are some rather cheap hotels. My advice would be to contact these hotels if you know what you’re doing this week-end. I would like to kindly remind you Geneva remains an international city and there might be sometimes quite a lot of tourists…
Lausanne Guesthouse & Backpacker - http://www.lausanne-guesthouse.ch/ - it’s downtown Lausanne, 10-15 minutes away from the MAD. Near the train station.
Lausanne Jeunotel - http://www.jeunotel.ch/ - it’s also near the Lake, I’d say 20 minutes away from the train station. This means subway and bus. Or taxi.
Geneva Cityhostel - http://www.cityhostel.ch – 5 minutes away from the train station. Next to United Nations building.
Geneva Youthhotel - http://www.yh-geneva.ch/ - 5-10 minutes from the train station. Should be ok aswell.
• Getting drunk in Lausanne
If you’re tired (and that would be really common) of electronic music, here are some places to get drunk – aka some directions to ask when you’re looking for a place to go.
Bleu Lézard - restaurant and interesting place to dance at night. From hiphop to hardrock, disco… . Jaggers – If you happen to know a place called the Men at Work in Almere, then you’ll love this place, happiness and drunk ness are the keywords. D! Club and Cult – hype and jetset lovers will love this place. MAD – Friday is trance and progressive, Saturday is house, and beware Sunday remains gay. There are so many places in Lausanne to get drunk you’ll just find it by yourself easily. Just follow the alpen trail. |
Et comme on dit chez nous "Vive la France"
