When you tell someone that you are going to aria, stereo, etc and then that person answers back that "oh, those are raves right?" "oh you like rave music?" "oh you take xtc right? " etc...

do you say "YES i go to raves (thus making you a raver by definition...)"

or

distance yourself from ravers and the rave culture and everything else bad associated with it by saying that "aria, stereo, etc are afterhour clubs playing this or that kind of music and they have nothing to do with raves..."

I say NO...

Rave are not for me...
when I go to Aria it's for the DJ and the music.

S'que je veux dire c'est que Dans ma tête malgré que je suis jamais allé dans un rave, j'aime bien prendre mes distances par rapport à ça. parce que pour moi...de la maniere dont j'imagine les raves dans mon profond imaginaire...je vois des centaines de CANDY avec des light sticks et la musique me semble moins du style que j'aime.

Le aria c po un rave...en-t-k pas pour moi.



btw...J'avoue que se thread laisse plus de place a des discussions avec un peu plus de fondement...

if you like raves or you don't you still have to make it clear that where you go its not a rave but and afterhours. i think afterhours have been on for a long time, even before the word rave started to get used so much.

but i could be wrong.

I get angry when people say that cause they are ignorant especially when you ask them to go to Afterhour and they say no its not my thing.. But how the funk do u know that if uve Never Been FFS!!!??

the only fact that its during the night makes it "strange" to others....and because techno music sounds like bam bam bam to them, its quite impossible they make a difference between raves and afterhours

ive been to "when music speaks" and it is very different from an after hour

people are different,music, evrything

chilly boo did a really good job,booking great dj's

but these day's it seems to be difficult to get more than 500 people in an underground rave

rave scene in montreal seem to go down a little, am I wrong?

I'm not a raver, I despise candy ravers with a passion!so no ,I wouldn't say I am a raver, nor do I attend raves unless a friend is spinning! BEB I wouldn't even consider a rave, but rather an event!

Raves are different from afterhours. In past I went to both, raves and Sona(after) and ambiance was different. Also raves were different too. 514 events drew more afterhour-like crowd(clubbers)and underground raves- Candy-ravers.

The question is who is a raver? An image of a Candy or a clubber?

it's funny how the word "rave" got over used by people

but associating the music and the clubs with the whole "rave" family (drugs , candy kids , tiger balm , massage , necklace , etc ...) ain't funny
