Especially when someone merrily states, "_________ sucks." How rational And to go as far as stating, "_______ sucks. Period." is just morbid and why so deliberate in casting Bright Eyes into the genre of "emo?" I'm truly hoping you only believe the band to be "emo" because of the lyrics.. as far as the instrumentation, it can't be so fastly tagged with a genre (as most feel it's in their nature to do), ranging from bluegrass to drunks hollering of their sorrows in the local bar to merrily just a piano and cello. You attempt to write such words of lyrical bliss, or rather "emo," since this genre and "sub-culture?" is so inferior. Forgive me for the long, dramatization, but you cease to realize you have spoken words of repremand towards my husband |
The brevity of my statement is no indication that my experience with Bright Eyes and emo is likewise. I've had more than my fair share of listening to Bright Eyes, and other emo bands, so I know what I'm talking about when I say that I think the music is terrible. As for Bright Eyes being emo...I'm just calling a spade a spade. I could bring up reasons why, but there's no point in arguing with a brick wall. My ability to "write such words of lyrical bliss" has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of Bright Eyes' music(or should I say Conor's, since he's the only constant member of the "band" it seems). I do not judge music in reference to my own ability, I judge it in reference to what I think sounds good. And by the way, stop with the obsession, it's scaring me.
