hi huys im a new addict from england im djing this friday for a friend and i gota take my own equipment. anyways i wanna get a new mixer cos i just sold my last one on ebay and i want an opinion on which one to buy. i play trance house breaks and old skool and i thought of these 3 - numark dxm06 , allen and heath xone32 , or the vestax pcv275. anyway what do u guys think i need lots of opinions and fast. obv those mixers are a varied price range but do u think any of them stand out?and why?

well, the A&H prolly has the best quality of those mixers. but if you're going to upgrade again soon, i see no point in buying something too big. or, well, you could still buy the most expensive one and sell it at a high price, given you take good care of it. blah, do what your heart tells ya. try and see if you can test them before buying, go to some shop, they should have a few display models open or something.

good advice thanks. u see im still pretty unsure of what qualitys i require in a mixer for my style of music. all i hear about are scratch mixers and little else. obv i need a good set of kills but what else? the numark mixer has an excellent set of kills and 12 effects. what makes the a&h and vestax mixers so expensive?????

The build quality in the A&H is far supperior to anything Numark have put together.
I may upset a few people by saying this but I have never seen or worked on a Numark mixer that I have liked. They just always feel far too gimicky for me.

The vestax you mentioned is probably in terms of what you get for your money the best value of the three. Not to mention the fact that it will be more than enough to use at home and parties etc. You get them is some clubs too.

The A&H Xone 32 is far to expensive for what you are getting in my opinion, and if you are going to spend that sort of money you might as well put a couple of hundred extra into a Pioneer DJM 600. It's what a lot of the name DJs are asking for when they play at a place. It's a very versatile mixer too.

apart from the shitty digital effects that are played out till kingdom come, the djm 500/600 cant even touch the xone 32 in terms of build quality, sound quality, and did i mention the xone 32 comes w/ straight analog filters w/ q knob?

djm 500 and 600 is a thing of the past..

I own a 464 and I agree with you on the build quality side, but you are way off the mark with the Pioneer being a thing of the past.

im actually really curious on how the new denon mixer compares to the pion DJM 600.

guys this is great stuff thanks for your opinions. i was afraid there would be a dispute on which to buy and it looks like its happened. so what is it that the xone32 actually does, barring sound quality, that makes it 500 pounds worth of product. on paper it actually seems that the numark (sorry to blaspheme nem*) dxm06 actually has MORE features than the other two combined altho this may be just a novices view. wow im confused! i have heard a few stories about pioneer mixers mainly bad reports though saying they are no where near worth the price. and at 650 pounds i would need to be a name dj to get the value from it surely. either way im on a gap year before uni and i wanna buy the mixer now to ensure i have something to last before i go uni and have no money!does the dxm06 look the best bet at only 200 pounds???

I've got the DXM06 and am very happy with it. Since I mix mainly in my bedroom and am a relative noob as far as skills go it does everything I need it to do and works great, bear in mind I've only had it for a month so time will tell with the reliability. As far as the effects it's not 12 different effects, it's 6 effects/channel and out of those 6 only 3 (flanger, phaser, and filter) are worth much of anything. I didn't really buy it for the effects though so I'm not to worried about the quality of them. I mainly bought it as a startup mixer to see if I would actually like the DJ thing and have quickly grown to love it (can't say the same for my bank account). I plan on getting a new one when I either outgrow it or it goes to shit, so for what I bought it for it works like a charm.

you get what u pay for.

digital effects are lame. id rather take clean subtle and fluid eq's and faders then some shitty digital effects that in no way make you a creative dj.

this is my advice, get the xone:32 and play around for a while, then if u REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY want a fx unit then look into the efx-500 or just wait for the new fx unit to come out.
