I will spin at this year's annual "twisted woodz" on sunday. This will be my first gig that doesn't involve weddings, house parties, or any of that sort. Im really excited and nervous at the same time. Any advice for a experienced n00b? me so happy

Yeah and get a few drinks before you get behind the tables. Not too much though
Hey Chex, I'm playing my first REAL gig on June 12th. It's the Mad Hatters Tea Party in Austin, TX. I have the "honor" of going on after Ron-E, who is one of the top djs, if not the best dj in Texas. I was a bit nervous at first, but I have some REALLY good tracks lined up and am looking forward to this. I will need to drink 2 dos equis before I go on though. Good luck to you man. I know how you feel.

Dont overly plan your set either- go with the feel of it.
Good luck chief!
All of this is very true, great advice. Try to keep an eye on the crowd, and adjust the types of tracks that you're playing to what they seem to be enjoying if at all possible.
