I'm looking at mixers on a budget, and my local DJ store has a brand called Alto.

I have never heard of these, and I can't find anything about them.

Can anyone help me out, what are they like? Does anyone rate them?

I am asking especially about the crossfader durability (what seems to be wear out first)

They seem at first glance to be pretty good for the money, they have bpm counters (I can always tape over them) and a range of lights - supposedly they tell you if the tracks are cued slightly off.

Please help, its the last bit of my set-up i need!

Well, as always, I am looking to sell my Vestax PMC-03A. It has a very durable crossfader and is in mint condition. As for the Alto brand, I have never heard of it before. If it is real inexpensive, you're probably paying for what you get and those little things like crossfaders -- they'll probably give out on you in no time.
