Haven't used the empath or the ecler but I own a Xone:32 and I'm in love with her. Everything about her, quality wise, is excellent. Regarding the gains and line/phono toggles on the rear plate of the mixer, neither are a problem for me - I'm used to adjusting gains by ear now instead of looking at the position of the knob, which wouldn't make sense to do anyway, and the knobs aren't out of reach, it's just that you can't see what position they're at. The phono/line toggles are not out of reach either, though admittedly I don't use them often seeing as I only have a pair of turntables hooked up... if I was using the toggles often it probably would be a bit of a c*nt because you would need to look over the back of the mixer to see what position they are in. Apart from that it's a sexy little thing and is decently priced for what you get. I paid $650 for it at riksmusic and shipping was free, best price I could find by far!
