Now that's some nasty drum 'n bass you threw down there.. Hadn't been listening to any d&b lately (I only tend to do so every once in a blue moon ), so this mix was a nice change from the usual..
To be honest, since I hardly listen to d&b, it's pretty hard to judge whether or not this is a good mix, but on the other hand, I'm not prejudiced in any way
Overall, transitions were quite good, there is not much of beatmixing in it but I don't think that d&b is a good genre for that anyway.. I couldn't really spot any errors in it.
As for the buildup, I couldn't really see one, it was just a blast from beginning to end.. If you're planning on doing longer sets, it might be worthwhile to keep that in mind, maybe start of with some more atmospheric (that was the correct term wasn't it?) d&b, and then build up to the more slamming tracks..
The only thing I didn't really like were some of the breakdowns, which came all of a sudden, at one point in the mix there were just a bit too many of em.. On the other hand, I quite liked that one breakdown with two people talking (possibly some kind of movie quote?)..
Hope this comment was of any use to you, hope you'll get some reviews from people who listen to d&b more often too..
