just keep in mind that Afterhours in Vancouver = slow souldful house or slow techhouse/proggy. so if you like these, check out gorg-o-mish for sure
NO techno, trance, breaks or uptempo music to be found overall....
so if you like those check out Fridays @ Sonar, or a couple of Thursday nights, Viva in the suburbs

OCT 29 @ Waldorf
OCT 29 @ PNE - Doom's Night

hey lois....there are no afterhours like in mtl....the closest equivilant to aria would be sonar (they book alot of the same djs too) but are open 10-4, and there are a few other clubs like lotus and viva..... the afterhours(2 legal ones)are quite small(500 max), and never have big hype shows with out of town djs....but from what I hear they are pretty dope....never been myself yet...
and special_k...how is trance not "perfect" for afterhours.....? confused on that one....

ummm how is trance not perfect for afterhours? its called personal prefrence, I would just much rather chill to prog in the early hours of the morning. Save the trance for the bigger shows.

Damn, I wish something like this would happen in my hometown, would be sweet to see a regular trance night locally with a high level of interest within the club scene.
dj james brown has been the resident there on fridays for years now that he has changed the format from house to trance q couple months ago and things have picked up
