I've seen sticky threads regarding information for headphones, online record shops, and dodgy record stores, but I still haven't seen anybody initiate a sticky info thread pertaining to needles.
This thought came across while I was shopping for new cartridges today. Like headphones, there is a vast range of needles and cartridges suited for different uses, but most importantly, different brands and styles with pros and cons.
Anyone else on this with me? I have a feeling that this is going to fall through, but along with the headphone thread, I think this might be a useful idea in this forum for beginner and veteran DJs alike.

Suggestions?

Needles are often overlooked, IMO...people are constantly worried about the type of mixer or brand of headphones, but needles are just as important as any of these.
Maybe, if we can get some other members to help, we could create a comprehensive thread on the fundamentals of how a needle works, different brands and their pros and cons, prices and such...
It'd be a moderately large project, but in the end I think it will pay off, adding more information to an already large pool.
If anybody is willing to help, just reply to this thread and pitch some ideas. Even a seperate, tranceaddict sponsored website would be an alternative as well.

the thread should also be closed after it has reached a certain # of replies. i think one of the biggest reasons that you get all of the headphone questions is because people dont wanna read 700 posts, half of which are useless, to make a decision. and worst of all, i just see the whitelabel vs. concorde flame war starting allready.

however it is a great idea and i am in favor of it.
