Does anyone know how to achieve the pumping sound the drums make on most daft punk records (thomas bangalter always does the same with his other productions). I know its to do with heavy compression, but no matter how much i try i can't seem to find the right setting on the right drum sample. Please help!!

I think I know what you're talking about. Just basically take the kick of your choice and cut all frequencies above ~150Hz. Then, you're right, heavy compression for everything else.

I have a question that might have been answered already by Vizay a couple of posts above.

I bet quite a bunch of you have heard Eric Prydz' remix of Daft Punk's "Call on Me" (hopefully that's the title). It sounds like the whole track is sucked into some kind of vacuum while the kick drum is on. My own guess was that it was made with some kind of sidechaining, that gated away all the other instruments while the kick was on. Perhaps that's also the effect used by Daft Punk in their original tracks, although I haven't ever heard any.

That was the track i most what to produce the sound from, the Eric Pryde remix of Call On Me by DJ Falcon & Thomas Bangalter (one half of Daft Punk)

Right, then I think almost for sure that it is sidechained compression, which cuts out all other sounds while the kick is heard. In my own ears it sounds well on normal speakers, but when I listen to that track using headphones it almost makes my brain explode. Weird. Perhaps my brain is sidechained as well...
