Artists also use White Labels to see if the public likes their music or not (Tiesto Or Ferry Corsten Being a perfect example of this) It's a lot easier for a "Super Star DJ" to get every track they ever made played, but if Tiesto releases a White Label under the name "Small bears in the woods - Waterfall" And DJs scoop it up and it makes the crowds go nuts, they know it's the creative skill people like, as opposed to people saying "It's Tiesto, it's gotta be good"
Also, white labels are used to get away with Sampling without the consent of the original artist (Mikey Black's song Not Born Yesterday is a perfect example of this) because they're not "writen" by anyone, they're just out there, to be enjoyed by the public. hehehe.
