ok I would like some suggestions ppl for building a daw. I have been reading over the internet forever now and I just can't seem to find which stuff to get. so, since most of you have been doing this for a while i figured i'd ask here.

The one thing i do not need to buy imediatly is the sound card. I already own the audigy platnium pro. I do not want to spend too much but I am willing to spend enough to be mid range or a bit more.

Its all preference man.... Try them all out the buy what you like most. No one DAW is better than another just different.....

I suggest a dual opteron system. It's as fast as a dual G5 2.0 for only $1300.00 or so.

If you decide to get a 64 bit processor (such as the opteron or amd 64) be sure to get yourself an M-audio Delta card, 'cause M-audio are developing 64 bit drivers for them, they are the first ones (and the only ones so far) to deliver 64 bit audio which greatly improves data stream!

I HIGHY recoomend 64 bit!

other than that: 250 gig hard drive (7200rpm or more), 1 gig memory and a good midi controller
