Just got the Denon X1500
Well after a very long hard grueling few days of trying to decide whether to go for the X1500 or the Ecler Nuo5, I finally decided on the Denon, I'll post more details later after I've mixed with it for a couple hours, but heres what I posted over on www.dn-x1500.com .
If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks guys, the version is 6591, gotta say I love how many options there is on this thing, I was kinda expecting afew on the effects end, but not all those options on the sampler, it was kinda overkill for me, spent about 4 hours with it lastnight, and was messing with the options so much I only actually mixed about 3 tracks.
Heres my mini review of the mixer so far.
Pros:
Sampler
Effects
Great Sound
Very Good Price
Matrix System
EQs Work Great
Stereo/Mono Switch
Faders Are Like Butter
Cons:
Heat (I wanna put this in a coffin, but read about one guy on here having major problems with it gettin to hot)
Slight Fader Delay (I'm sure this will be fixed with an update though)
EQ Cut (Even though they work and sound great, it would be nice to have a full kill, dunno if you guys can do this with an update)
The Key Effect (I just can't get it to sound good unless there is no beat or just not much going on, but that might be a problem from not using it properly)
Fader Knobs (nothing really, just the clearcoat on its coming off, Denon should save some time and just not coat them)
Reasons I Bought This Over Ecler, it was tough, I'm a huge fan of Ecler.
This mixer has more features.
I like how it can be updated.
Even though I think the Ecler Sounds better, it only beats Denon very slightly, unless your some hardcore Audiophile, I'd rather have more features over slightly better sound.
Its Cheaper.
I'm certain that either Denon will bring out a rotary kit, or somebody will have instructions soon on how to make your own.
VU Meters on each channell, the Ecler does not.
Even though I know Eclers build quality is awesome, I know that Denon make some outstanding Home Theater gear, so they know how to make electronics, also there part of Marantz which I'm a fan of for there exellent quality.
Well I'm done, hope this helps anyone considering buying this unit, it is a top notch mixer, and as for those cons, the only real problem is the heat if you wanna put it in a coffin, and I'm wondering how it would perform outside on a hot summers day, but I'm sure there is a way to fix this with some good ol computer fans. |
This is a demo unit I took home while they order me a new one since there out of stock, it had been looked over by a Denon rep and I was told it had an update, the Denon rep on the site asked what version I had so as you can see I told him, and he said its NOT the update, so now I got more to look forward to.
