Evil1 Technics RP-DH1200 headphones review

Do not buy these headphones unless you only do single ear monitoring.

First the good: they are stylish and comfortable... they fit nice on my head, with EXCELLENT sound quality.

But... that sound quality means nothing because these headphones have absolutely no noise cancelling effects. You will have these on and you can hear everything around you, including conversations people are having 10 feet away (no joke). What happens is you have a monitor speaker blasting away and you have to jack up your headphone volume to dangerous levels so you can hear whats in them. So one side is very loud with the track playing (because of the speaker you can hear everything) and the other side with the cue'd track is barely audible. I had a set last night and it was very frustrating. I found the headphones box so I'm returning these asap. They cost $150.

I have the pioneer dedj-5000's which cancel out noise great but the sound quality is deteriorating on me. I guess I'll go for the hdj-1000 next.

Is this the new technics model??

I've recently reverted back to using my technics rpdj1200's from the pioneers.

Fuckin love them to bits, the only thing i find annoying is the earcup doesn't swivel.

yeah its the new model- just been released.
It looks impressive, but ill reserve judgement until ive tried them.
Cheers for the info

Unknown dj- absolutely nothing. Check my past threads for this farce- the last pair broke after three uses (although the original pair did last 6 months before something broke and rattled inside)...sony syndrome all over again.

I recently did a checkup with our warranty database. Apparantly we've received more broken HDJ-1000's then Sony MDR-V700's! You're not the only one

I can vouch for that.

I've also sent back three pairs.

We've sold more V700's then HDJ's, simply because the V700 is older. During the hype we also sold a lot of HDJ's, and more then 1 in 10 breaks.

you should try the sennheisser HD280 pros, they block out a metric fuckload of sound (that's more than an imperial fuckload if you were wondering)

i was mowing the lawn with them on, and could barely tell the lawnmower was on!
