removing vocals from rendered tracks?

theres a track, raiden - fallin' with the most amazing vocal and ive recreated it note for note in floops but theres no acapella for this song and it loses alot of its energy without the vox. i just figure theres a lot to learn from recreating other people's tracks.

im not sure exactly if this can be done and ive never owned a mixer with kill switches so i pose the question to people who may know better? is it possible to remove vocals from a track if it sits in a specific stereo field or within a certain frequency range? i ask because i found a little application called yogen vocal remover. i tried this out but its a gimmicky piece of crap that doesnt even load wavs/mp3s properly and i have yet to get it to rip a vocal that isnt 0 kb in size and corrupt. can you even isolate bits of sound accurately with kills? thanks in advance.

to save you the time and to tell you why i said goldwave is becuase goldwave allows you to remove vocals from tracks and is not a gimick it really works and if you have the instrumental you cna then peferm a theoretical technique which i personally ahve never done. to find it out search for "phase reversed" or " making acapella" as the keywords and taht might help but to do this method youd need a exact copy of the track just without the vocals an exact instrumental and with goldwave you can remove vocals. and there for be able to make this process easy.

i can not stress enough that this is increadble illegale and using any acapella without consent from the artist/record lable for intent to sell or for profit gain is highly illegale. however if you get this to work successfully please tell us and let us hear what youve been able to make. you might also try doing some intense tons plotting and using an excessive amounts of filtering to remove frequcnys and such that are not of the vocals. also a way to help you get started and i use this quite often is i runa track through traktor and use its filters ie the cutoff/res/width filters to remove sounds and shit from tracks it takes a bit of work but you shoudl beable to filter out everything but the higher ends and the vocals with these filters.

its the same concept as doing it in flstudio with filters buta bit easier. if any of this works let me know im really curious. hope this helps any.... ive hgad some close friends or swear that they can remove vocals froma track without any real quality loss and simple by process of filtering and extreme time consumption he siad somewhere around 4 - 5hours of work to get vocals i never herad it nor did i ever try to call him out on it as hes quite in depth with musical theory in that aspect so i never botherd to attempt to call him on bullshit so i dont know if this is true. but technically it is possible and in theory but in practicality i dont know

i did do a search and i only got 2 threads returned neither of which had any clear answers, thx zxzdevil for the reply though. i suppose there arent really any clear ways of doing this. i did some additional reading but i dont think its possible to remove the vocals from fallin' because it is SOAKED in reverb and no instrumental version exists. theres only the original and a friction/nu balance mix (and that just bastardizes the original). shame really

in one term "ZxZDeViLZxZ" is right about that technically using a simple program to remove vox is not possible...u can fully remove the vox it will only get u a surround sound like feature of the song, the reason is becuase vox and synths are recorded in the mid frequency so if u take vox out ur taking out the good stuff so its leaves a bad outcome but what "ZxZDeViLZxZ" is trying to say i believe is if u take the original song and get a instrumental of it they both have to match ...and when u layer them both on top of eachother the sound frequency will cancel out all the insturments and leave u only the vox yaaay that is easy

track =.............X.VVV.XXXX.VVV.XXXX.VXV
instruemtnal=.....X.......XXXX.......XXXX...X
outcome will be =..VVV.........VVV..........V.V

hope this helps the X is the song and V is vox

i bought a cake in the bakery... can everyone explain how to recreate the flour?

... only a joke...

is it really going?
but i think it would be very difficult to find an exact instrumental version of the vocal track. first: not every song has an instrumental version... second: if you havnt the original master youŽll get onyl shit. dont try to rip the tracks from vinyl. you will get onyl a phasing version
and filtering... o_O

i dont believe it before i hear an example...
