I stopped by there before going into work Monday morning... I still needed to sleep more from Picotto on Friday, but whatever. Resort is right on the southside of City Place in WPB, and it's honestly pretty nice. I'll tell you what, Acosta might not bring you guys out, but I am very impressed with Moscow and Resort as clubs. Resort has an escalator bring you up to the club, and the vibe was good... better than on Clematis st. George dropped In Silence, so I was happy ... he dropped Holding on to Nothing.. I stayed for an 1 1/2, and was jamming trance in my head all morning at work, it was straight.
MT04, honestly... Acosta doesn't spin the same style of trance, he tends to throw decent melodic and tech-trance together with hard, dark trance... and his sets don't usually make sense.. His music is generally good, but he does leave you hanging sometimes. The weird vocals during the breakdowns don't work usually, so that is just some of his bad taste in vinyl. I give Acosta respect, he's a major influence in my music appreciation, but he is not Ferry Corsten, or Picotto, or Verwest, yada-yada. They make you go Co-Ray-Zee at a different level than George does, and their sets leave lasting impressions on your mind. Here's some perspective: Acosta spun at Club Resort, in WPB this weekend. Edgar V. spins down the street at Release in WPB, but he opened and closed at the 34 for Picotto last Friday... that's the difference.
