Temperature conditions for playing...

Yesterday, I had to spin outdoors in the blazing sun. My equipment got pretty hot. I even slightly burned my right arm, when touching the turntable surface during pitch adjustment. I have Techs MK2's and DJM-600. Is the temperature like this really damaging to the equipment like this or not?

usually, the operating temperature is 0 to 55°C. And, you should watch out with turntables in the sun. The vinyls can get pretty hot and get damaged. Equipment in full sunlight could heat up to 55°C and malfunction. Therefor, you odd to avoid placing equipment in direct sunlight.

next time, try to get one of those big picnic umbrellas so your equipment and vinyl doesnt get the direct sunlight

never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever play records in blazing sun. ALWAYS get a a parasol or something to shade the decks and your vinyl with.

and yes, if it burns you to touch, the chances are it will be damaging the deck.

That depends on how hot the spotlights get, and how close they are to your vinyl.

If they get real hot, and are like 2" (about 10 cm) above your vinyls, they might do some damage.

If they are hanging about 3 to 5 ft (1 - 1.50 meters) above your vinyls, I wouldn't worry too much.

I tested my vinyls and equipment. It sounds perfectly fine.

I would say very far from danger. They have more of a chance of freezing than melting.
