I'm going to buy 2 decks and a mixer fro ebay sometime next week. This will not include and amp or 2 speakers.

Ok, this may sound dumb but what are the cable called for:

mixer to amp
amp to speakers

I just want to know the name of them so i can buy some once i have bought my equipment. I'm just worried that i will buy the decks and mixer then i wouldn't know what the hell kind of cables i would need, so it would be very helpful is you know.

It depends entirely on the mixer, amp, and speakers...

Mixer to amp could be some combination of RCA, 1/4", XLR, etc.

Amp to speakers could be a combination of 1/4", Neutrik, Speakon, banana plugs, etc, or plain speaker wire.

Don't forget the compressor between the mixer and the amp... trust me on this one

It is really worth it for a small setup? What's the smalest size amp/speakers you would recommend using a compressor with?

I know i will be getting the full setup soon, but i'm a little worried.

Im thinking of getting everything from ebay (decks, mixer, amp and speakers). I will be buying them from separate users. Like, decks n mixer from one guy,. then amp and speakers from another guy.

I might buy them, and the amp mgiht not be compatable with the mixer or stuff like that, and i might be missing some wires etc... any suggestions.

if ur buying from ebay then just ask the seller if they will include the cables, if they wont then just ask him what cables you will need so you can buy them in advance.
