Guys,

Just bought some new shit. I got a djm3000 mixer and two new avent 20/20 studio monitors, self powered. Anyway, everything appears to be grounded; however, there is serious static coming out of my speakers when I turn on the mixer. It appears that it is coming from the tables because they are the only elements that cause the static, neither of my cd decks do it.

Anyway, any thoughts? Before I take the mixer back I would rather troubleshoot this thing. I'm leaning towards maybe it is the inputs in the back of the mixer.

have you tried picking up your tables while the speakers are on?

does that stop it?

yea try different speakers, or if thats not it, sounds like bad RCA's or XLR's or whatever your using to connect everything. Most likely its the cables, or your speakers amps are shit.
