The latest release on Ireland's new label Blu-Room Records once again brings to us another talent from the far reaching corners of the globe. Jaytech hails from Canberra in Australia, and has been becoming an increasingly prominent figure down under in the last few months with his production and DJ work. 'Music 101' is the first of several singles set to appear in the next few months, and backed with a remix from The Flash Brothers, it has all the hallmarks of a promising debut indeed.
As the first beats of Jaytech's 'Original Mix' emerge through the speakers, you find yourself being drawn into it's dense groove very quickly, and as the pads and bubbling synth hooks appear and begin to evolve, the sheer emotion of this track takes over, underpinned by an awesome, trippy melodic line. The bottom end drops out as the melody pushes the track forward, and the track climaxes on an upbeat and uplifting high that will leave you with a big smile on your face.
And over on the flip, the 'Flash Brothers' pull out all the stops and turn in a devastating remix that will level any club or tent it gets dropped it. Big atmospheric moods are used to provide the backdrop as metallic tribal style beats ride over the top, swaying back and forth, creating an energy that builds and builds. And just when you think it couldn't get any more intense, it builds further, waves of strings lifting the tempo higher as the first drop hits, and when the second hits on at the peak of a massive build up, just watch the craziness begin, as this remix takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride you will never forget.
This label has come from nowhere to deliver this amazing single, with Jaytech's original a well produced progressive house track that will sit nicely in those early to mid sets, but the flip is just a pure, unadulterated peak time bomb, the likes of which will have half the dancefloor running to the booth to enquire as to what they just heard, and the other half standing in awe. The Flash Brothers have really pulled the stops out here, and the addition of their remix is guaranteed to make this a sure fire winner for Blu-Room Records and a very impressive debut single for this Australian producer.
10/10 by Simon Jones (Progressive Sounds)
