Cubase SX must be installed on the harddrive that has WINDOWS on it, for windows at least. I guess this goes for MAC as well. That one helped me, after I called tech support.
If you don't have the legal version, well then it possibly is the cracked version. Hey I used the cracked version before I bought mine. I noticed that the cracked verisons don't run as smooth as the real thing. I mean I guess you can just download a demo, but I would rather just used a cracked version, just out of habit I guess.
I am faithful to if I use software and like it, I then decide to purchase it. It's kind of cool because you can actually fully try it out. Software developers actually don't mind much in the United States since everyone eventually purchases the software once they have the available funds. Actually, at least in the US, you can right of your business expenses to a percentage, the software you use is defined as a business tool.
Everyone knows the cracked versions is just more of a pina anyways, downloading it, testing it, etc. It is actually so nice buying a software box, getting a paper manual, technical support, and just a natural feeling of fitting in with society if nothing else.
