It's a mapping system that goes beyond any maps you've ever seen.
The coolness is you can see down to the meter what a persons house looks like or even a venue.

Have you ever heard of a field called Geographical Information Systems (ie GIS). I use a program call ArcINFO. Put out by the ESRI compnay. I have maps that allow me to do just that. This is just a simple web based engine. We have designed something similar to that in our Uni's geospatial lab.....
I have seen better, Ive played with better, but that is stil nice for the lay user such as yourself. My software gives me the capability to the same as this, ie measure distances and such, and query millions of options based on aerial photography, census data or any geographical information. I could take your neighborhood and find out how many hispanics lived within 1 block, or one mile. Find out how much crime is in your city, hood or state....
please please please dont say that this goes beyond anything I have ever seen....
[EDIT]
If you think that you can only get 1 meter resolution images from that site, think again. You can get it free from the terraserver off of microsoft.

Wait 'til they stick implants in you where you'd think you can travel the world without leaving your couch. Or they can also make you pee in your pants like a baby. Or kill your parents.
Hows that for something you've never seen.
@ mezzir: It's one step in the direction they want you to go. And yes
