The Trippiest TV Show I have ever farking seen.

Has anybody ever watched Boohbah?

http://www.boohbah.com/zone.html

http://www.boohbah.tv/

I tell you what, coming home at 4:00 am watching this in a state is quite an experience.

When I watched it they had a woman painting a fence, and not like cut video clips, I mean she painted the whole fucking fence, it took like 5 straight minutes, you saw every fucking stroke, and the the fence kept getting longer when she would get near the end, and then she ran out of paint so these weird Boohbah things flew in with a new bucket.

I'm thinking that the makers of this show listen to psy trance.

From the website:

Boohbah is an exciting new programme for children, with a format that fosters both creative thinking and creative movement. Boohbah is entirely designed to encourage physical action on the part of its young viewers. It deliberately combines infectious magical movement, for children to imitate, with inset stories for them to predict outcomes.

The design of the show - visually and otherwise, draws upon early concepts in science, maths and art and combines these with ‘televisual magic’ to create a uniquely funny television experience.

The Boohbahs, five magical atoms of power, light and fun travel in their Boohball around the world, from child to child. Fifteen countries are visited throughout the changing title sequence.

The Boohbahs represent the imaginative power and light which allows children to control the screen action by the use of the magic word “Boohbah”, and send presents into an imaginary Storyworld for the Storypeople - Grandmamma, Grandpappa, Mrs Lady, Mr Man, Brother and Sister, Auntie and Little Dog Fido to play with and make a story in partnership with them. We hear the children intervening in the screen action by the sound of their blowing and their use of the word “Boohbah”. This motivates the action and moves the story along. Only Little Dog Fido is not wholly in their control! Children are totally engaged and have a lot of fun guessing which Storyperson will appear and what will happen next.

Holy hell, I watched that show once and it freaked the hell out of me. What I saw was the following...

- Boohbahs dancing around, for no apparent reason. Their eyes clicked weird-like, then they'd disappear.
- Scene after scene of little children, in a park, yelling "Boohbah, look what I can do!" then spinning in circles for two minutes on a twirling rainbow mat.
- Then, out of nowhere, they cut to a scene with two old people attempting to consume an immensely-large hot dog.
- Repeat that cycle for thirty minutes.

Weirdest show... Evar.

Oh, and that Zone.html portion of their website makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

The show makes absolutely no sense to me.

I'm glad that I'm not on my own in expressing total weirdness.

Seriously, if you wanted to freak someone out, just stick that on.

I'm going to dig-up old tapes of shows that I watched, just for my kids. Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, Shining Time Station, Sesame Street (the episodes before Elmo became an excessively-popular "whore") and all of those shows from the early 90's. The shows these days are just horrid.
