Not trying to defend English football but Chelsea has one of the best records in this years champions league and currently top their group. Man Utd also top their group. Which of the German "giants" of world football currently top their champions league group?

Re: Whatever happened to English football clubs being alright?
| quote: | Arsenal: A team that is good when the going is good, but choke when there is any hint of pressure. The biggest team of softcock pansies in world football that freak out when it comes to running onto a pitch with the champions league music. Having French in the team is some excuse, and they only are decent domestically because the standard of opposition is so weak.
An absolute joke of a team that will fall apart shortly in the champions league, unless you consider that they might have already done that. |
that's going too far. arsenal are undoubtly a world class team, they might not be on one of their best moments but they do have the talent and team structure.
| quote: | | Chelsea: You know if someone outside of England supports Chelsea that they've only been following the game for a couple of years or less. After breaking all previous records of spending the most money without actually winning anything, Chelsea are set to become the running jokes of world football for many years to come. |
Been following football for 10 years, enough? I understand what you're saying though, i've never liked them that much, and i'm only supporting them cause they have at least 7 portuguese guys there. However they seem really damn solid now, so it's quite possible they might end up actually winning something this year.
| quote: | | The only conclusion is that English football has concentrated for too many years on marketing, buying big name rejects from other leagues, and having the weakest coaches, and the recent record of English clubs and players on the world stage is evidence of this. The English Premierships needs to consider bringing in some minimum standards of technical skill, maybe the players can do some sort of exam, so that we don't have to endure watching these hacks kicking a ball from one end to the other in the air. |
Again an overstatement. I'll agree that english clubs and the premiership are a bit overrated, but you're making it sound like they're complete crap, and they're not by any means.
Anyway dunno why i'm replying seriously to you, you've proved to be a flaming troll in the past.
