That IS if u drive it up here. Basically, it's giving your car canadian citizenship. That money is going to taxes- Canada does anything to get a buck. (5 yrs later, my car is a 'citizen', and I'm still not, LOL!).
If it's only temporary, or only for a year, don't even bother switching anything over. It's not worth it. If u get into an accident & need to make an insurance claim, say you were on vacation. Hope u know how to drive in the snow!!!
