A magnet for the weird and wonderful the lilly pad scrapes a slice of fun from everyone that spends a little time, wears silly clothes or dances on the stage that looks close to the point of collapse.
Last year I considered spending more time being one of the masses and checking out the 'big names' and like a message from God whilst getting my chest waxed it all made perfect sense. A moment of clarity if you like. I nearly strayed and walked onto the wide road leading to destruction whilst leaving the small narrow road leading off to everlasting life.
You see the lady on the cubical next to me whilst I became smooth in preparation for losing my clothes early at another bdo was clear in her desire to make sure her brasilian was extra smooth as she won a contest and was performing on the lilly pad stage. Now you don't need to watch Pulp Fiction to take notice when jah is talking, so there I am at the Lilly Pad trying to figure out who was smooth and who was rough.

10 points for the part where you don't make sense
btw as to what i'd do at bdo??
i'd definitely be up in a tower somewhere aiming my sniper rifle at all those stupid indie bands who sing like they have sinus problems.
Blink 182 mastered this, all the rest are wannabe little fukcs.

Its a pretty poor dance line-up this year, but that doesn't matter as BDO is a must do event, it just wouldn't be summer without getting heat stroke and nearly dying of exhaustion, making fun of people in black clothes and those in home made t-shirts and trying to pick-up girls by writing sweet things on with texta on their clothes and body parts.
However I was asking a little of what people's normal process if when they go to Big Day Out. Do you dance? Go check out the dark side (rock music)? Or chill under a tree?

I have always thought that if you want a dance music atmosphere you go to a dance party, if you want alternative and the sort you go to big day out... for me i wouldn't feel right turning up to an event with a massive alternative croud expecting to get the same out of a dance party. As a result i have never been!!!! Tho i would love to see cox... maybe in a club instead!

I'd go just to see Coxy, but I dunno if I can justify speding $100 to hang around drunken stoners with bad attitudes.

at least they'd have good attidudes.. and wouldn't jump on you.
i don't get mosh pits.. why would anyone want to subject themselves to that? the threat of death/getting trampled?
if i was to go i'd see cox, concorde dawn, chemmies.. and thats it.
cant justify >$100 for that. i saw more better acts than that at adventjah for less than $60
What would you all say if i told you my dad was once friends with carl cox, he did some gigs with him and new him wen he was into motown songs and startin to realy get into the dj industry.

Ahh the idiots are easily avoidable at BDO, although capsicum spray can be most helpful at times.
See this thread shows what many people have lost out from the times of the inner city warehouse party and the bush doof. Its not about the names, the crowd, its about the experience.
Now although the big day out experience is not one of lasting pleasure, it does give one a chance to spend lots of money on a ticket where most of the money goes to bands you don't like and won't watch, que for toilets for a total cumulative time of 3 hours, and try to walk back to your car in a state of dehydrated exhaustion combined with your blood being a think chemical powder.
Some people just don't know how to have fun....
