Using Headphones with Delta44

Does anyone know the best way of using standard connection (3.5mm) headphones with the Delta44 soundcard.

The Delta uses 1/4trs (6.3) cables, so Im guessing I need an adaptor of some kind.

Can anyone please help? I wanna produce at 2am in the morning without waking up my Dad.

I found this site:

http://www.cybermarket.co.uk/ishop/923/shopscr111.html

Though I've had a thought. I want stereo on my headphones, so what I need is an adaptor/cable that will allow me to connect both channels on my Delta44box (left & right) to a single 3.5mm jack (to plug my headphones into).

Any ideas? Or workarounds?

The best way is to plug the delta44 into an amplifier, and your headphones into the amp.

That way you're not plugging headphones into an unamplified source, and you also get a volume control within easy reach.

Screw up in the sequencer without an easy to reach volume knob and you might hurt your ears!

If you don't have/want to get an amplifier there are a number of headphone boxes for exactly this kind of need.

How can I find these 'Headphone' boxes on the web?

Also, do you recommend any cheap amplifiers?

I would have thought the Delta44 already has an amplifier on the sound card, and a mini jack headphone out as well. Seem not then.

The 'headphone boxes' are technically called headphone pre amps, so you could shop around for that. Though I'm not sure if it's really worth getting a whole amplifier just for that. Maybe so, though I'm sure the Delta44 should have an amplified output, and a separate headphone out as well. If not, then maybe it's better looking at getting another card or audio interface?

i have my setup like this :

delta44 > behringer UB502 mixer > headphones AND monitors

the UB502 costs something like 40 euros and like that you can control the volume in your headphones and the monitors seperetly. i'm very glad to have this mixer, now i couldn't go back to another setup and having to plug in my headphones each time i want to use them

static blue

personally, i have mine running into active monitors which have a headfone socket. but before i got those, i used a 2 x phono RCA > 1/4" jack socket adapter, and use the large jack in that. for smaller headfones just get a 14" jack > 1/8" jack adapter.

Thanks for the advice everyone, especially Static.

I've gone and bought that mixer on E-Bay, brand new for £35.
