Markus Schulz starts off the Broadcast! Markus is back from a week in Europe with tons of fresh tunes! Be sure to tune in the first two hours for exclusive mixes from our host!
Airwave returns the Broadcast! Laurent Véronnez aka (DJ) Airwave lived in Brussels until he was 20 years young, experimenting with computers and synthesizers at his home. After sending his first demo to Lightning Records – the original home of the infamous Bonzai label -, he became one of the main artists of the new age in electronic music. After the first small successes with PLG, North Pole, Montera and Magnetix, he had his first breakthrough with the first release of Fire & Ice, produced together with DJ Fire. He decided to move to Antwerp so he could concentrate more on his production work. The first results were new releases for Fire & Ice, Planisphere and Meridian. After that he evolved more and more and faster and faster becoming a real professional artist by producing Airwave as a main project carrying his producers name known as L-Vee. All that together with the launch back then of Bonzai in the UK, made him in an instant a star in the trance progressive music scene. Besides all that he was also commissioned to make remixes for the likes of Yves Deruyter, Da Hool, Aurora, Solar Stone, Blue Alphabet, Push, Jones & Stephenson, … Laurent has always essentially been influenced by the roots of electronic music, since the early beginning, from Kraftwerk to FSOL or great producers like Jarre, Orbital, Oliver Lieb and one of his big admirations BT, …All of them are still taking his breath away. He defines his own musical style as “pure electronic dance music with a sniff of electronica and trance and progressive sounds” which is a result of many years of discovering, getting inspired by his musical heroes and being guided by his record label Bonzai, whom he calls “the gods of music & technology”. Now a new era is born, after the disappearance of his main label home Lightning Records, he is back more than ever as being a co-owner and A & R for Banshee Worx, the newly formed record label together with DJ/producer star Yves Deruyter and Fly (owner of Bonzai) and Marnik (A & R + international from the former Lightning Records). With the new label underway, Airwave is set to take over the world…one gig at a time!
Antidote joins to the Broadcast! Antidote is a project founded by producer L-Vee (aka Airwave) and Marnik Braeckevelt, who has been the A & R for the Bonzai labels over the last 10 years.
L-Vee needs no real introduction. He has been a big trance producer for the last 10 years under different project names such as Airwave, Fire & Ice, Body-Shock, Cape Town, Lolo, The Green Martian, … just to name a few. Making remixes for the finest DJ/producers in the firmament, he has set his name as a high quality producer, making music for every dance floor. He joined forces with Marnik Braeckevelt about 2 years ago to breed a new project under the name Antidote.
Antidote wants to bring something different to the dance floors. Deep dark progressive music with a pumping beat. With Marnik Braeckevelt as a driving force to give the project each time an ever-evolving musical direction. Marnik Braeckevelt has been doing some projects in the past such as Mellow Mellow which was an instant success some 12 years ago, taking his musical taste from his radio show he was hosting back then, evolving to the main A & R at Bonzai and developing artists like Push, Yves Deruyter and Airwave. That together with his musical background, which was EBM – Electronic Body Music by bands such as Front 242 and Ministry, you get Antidote as a result.
A new single by Antidote is to be expected in the next weeks named Cybernetic Desire on the Progrez label.
fter the end of Lightning Records, within a few months Banshee Worx was founded by Bonzai founder Fly, Bonzai A & R Marnik & DJ producers Airwave and Yves Deruyter, bringing you the finest club, trance, progressive and techno productions. Banshee Worx continues on the same path as they used to be with Lightning Records with the same roster of producers who have been around for many years such as Push, Plastic Boy, Yves Deruyter, Airwave, The Green Martian, … and a new breed of producers, amongst others Primer, Kompressor, DJ Vicenzo, Nathan Profitt, DJ Fire, Antidote, Miss Ann, Planisphere, Will Holland, Yamakasi, … and the story continues…
