dling...I never ever ever liked that first routine, and I saw it so many times at so many different events, and it was always the same exact thing.
I hope this one is better.

So the fact that it takes a long time to preprogram one of these sets stops any sort of ability for variety, and being spontaneous? Hm...first of all I dont think thats true and second of all, that certainly wouldnt make me want to buy a dvj.
Anyways, I'm just not feeling these dvjs, I mean I think they would be nice to add visualizations to a set, but that could, and has been done long before the dvj. I mean all this does is jump between videos, jumps between different spots on the videos and plays different parts of the videos farwards/backwards/forwards/backwards/forwards/backwards/annoying studdering/backwards/annoying studdering etc.
Sure you could say the same for the cdj, all it does is play the music forwards/backwards/studdering/looping/jumping between tracks/different points in the track, but thats totally different, because these qualities work right along with electronic music...because thats essentially what it is it works with the form of a track. Video just isnt the same, doing these little tricks to video is just annoying...well I guess thats why alot of people find electronic music annoying...

It is a great product, but not one thats really got a place in the EDM scene as its more todo with the actual music, but for mainstream crap and MTV this is a top tool, although I have heard of various DJs like Zabiela using them abit, but not doing preset sets like 2nd Nature, Zabiela and the like just go with the flow when on them.
I don't think the DVJ has the ability to do that seperate tracks things at once, like play a drum on one and a kick on the other, DVD is higher quality and I do think DVD is able to do this, but I don't think its a feature on the DVJ, as for other programs, Ableton can do what you said easy, screw 9, you can have 20+ if you want, as many as you want aslong as your computer can take it.
Its a top peice of gear, and 2nd Nature does a good set, be it preset or whatever, and even though I've played on them and it was fun, if I was given one I'd sell it and buy things that are more lets say sensible for EDM music.
