According to nba analysts Pop benched yesterday against the Suns Ginobilli and Duncan for psychological advatage on the suns...
Apparently Pop didnt want to give the Suns the chance of maybe beating them in the regular season and help them gain momentum for the playoffs, taking into consideration that the Spurs won the first two games of the 3 game regular season series...
Duncan and Ginobilli were in fact hurt, but I strongly believed they could have very well played and they would have never miss this game if it was in the playoffs...
People in Phoenix, including the owner, were very pissed at this move and started yelling "chicken" at Duncan, Pop and the Spurs bench..
I've been a Spurs fan all my life and you could say what you want but this move was very smart by Pop...The short handed spurs played a very well game and lose by 6 on the road against the second best team in the league...Not Bad!
I dont see anyone being able to stop the Spurs this season, specially on a best of 5 or 7 series in the playoffs...The Suns couldnt be too thrilled about beating a team with role players starting only by 6 at home...This gives the Spurs momentum completely...

as much as we like to see the suns run and gun, we all know history proves shooting teams do not make it to the finals .. all shooting teams eventually will have one bad series, and then they lose .. why do you think dallas never made it to the finals ?? they could have beaten the lakers with shaq with their hot shooting, but poor shooting got the best of them ..
san antonio will come out of the west, because defense wins championships .. ask chicago and michael jordan .. we all talk about michael jordan scoring all these points, but did the team ever lead the league in scoring, and win the championship ?? no .. they won, because of good defense ..

imagine all that with a healthy and well rested tim duncan...that guy, not like many of the other superstars, raises his game to another level in the playoffs...
just remember what he did on last game in the finals against the nets to win the championship in 2003...21 pts, 20 rebs, 10 asts, 8 blks...what more could you ask?
suns aint beating that...PLEASE!
