I love how in his new interview, PVD tells people off for the ongoing debate of cd vs vinyl.
He said the sound quality debate was stupid, cause all the music comes from a digital source in the first place! Its all mastered in digital then pressed onto vinyl.
That was what i always wondered, and now a production/djing master as outright stated it. He agrees with me, so im happy.
bring on new technology! |
That's the most flawed logic i've ever seen. The fact that the signal off a record is analog means that the bass has a much warmer feel. The highs are not as sharp and there for the sound is much more evenly distributed. If you are playing rock this may not be what you are looking for but for electronic music on a huge system it makes a world of difference and sounds way better. Thos of you that complain that a dj's sound quality "suddenly wasnt very good" and blame the system? Well honestly what you are usually complaining about is the quality of the mp3s or other digital technology such as final scratch that is being used. I rarely see sound complaints (and i can hear a difference myself) when vinyl is used.
