I actually think that if you have a pre club bar going off with people dancing it's very good publicity all round even if the financial gains don't match. Good for your rep and the bars.

After giving it some thought that is extremely true, a happy dancing dancefloor is especially good for the DJ, not the bar people.
But all that dopamine flow must trigger off some drinking spree for at least 25% of the clubbers!
Btw, you mention "pre-club". Is that the term for pubs/small 'clubs' which have djs and a little dancefloor? I don't know what to call these places so I call em bistros/pubs which gives an impression quite farfetched from what it really is.
