Listen to them...you be the judge. After all, you'll be the one using them and liking them. But to answer, I like Vengeance better...the other one sounds too generic and extremely cheesy...listen to those vocals, haha...ridiculously cheesy. Vengeance is fresh and innovative. I'm not biased, I just listened to both and obviously decided who sounds better and more pro. Plus the Vengeance sample song is long and shows you the power of the samples, the other one is some stupid short little song that gave me embarrasment when I heard it, LOL. =o)

Would using Vengeance samples be superior to using a soft synth like FM7 or pro 53?

lol
you're talking bout drums right?
Plz explain me how the heck you'd make a convincing 909 crash or open hihat with the pro53 or fm7.

i only use sample cd's for
percussion, including kicks
fx
sometimes BASS sounds, not very often though
never really use them for synths or that.

but its always handy to have plenty of varied sounds in the studio, means there is more to work with.

yeh, theres very good vst's out their...ie vanguard, superwaves trance pro, z3ta, albino, etc.etc.

sometimes the samples are decent to use, but like most ppl, the drums is usually the most useful department for them.

btw. i have ueberschall loop essentials and it kicks fuckin ass!!! i'm yet to try the two you have mentioned though.
