okay i'll try to give a few examples of genres
tech-trance
-----------
I fusion between techno and trance (obviously examples would be latest tunes from Picotto like Verdi, Like this Like that, Pegusas
Uplifting Trance
-----------------
Uplifting melodies and basically the most popular form of trance because it appeals to most people. Examples would be Tiesto, Corsten, Armin van Buuren, Above and Beyond, Rank 1, Gouryella etc.
Progressive Trance
------------------
Tunes which blend in elements from house and trance and usually aren't uplifting. Examples of progressive producers are Bedrock (Digweed), Sasha, Breeder, Sander Klienenberg etc.
Progressive House
------------------
Similar to progressive trance but with more housey elements. Examples would be Brother in Rythum, Way out West, James Holden.
Hard Trance
------------
Bangin Trance sounds, usually very fast. Examples would be comic gate, dumonde or Talla 2XCL (I'm not a big fan of hard trance so i'm not too sure about this)
Trance-Breaks
-------------
Stuff by Hybrid....the fusion of breaks and trance melodies.
Nu-Breaks
------------
One word...Adam Freedland
Hope that helps....remember though that genre's are created by the media not the artists. It's all about good music not specific genre's.
