PKing around the city

Might interest some of you guys that likes "alternative" stuff...

Hmm no.. it's not "player killing" around the city.. it means doing le Parkour, which is an extreme sport.. hmm even a way-of-life. People doing that sport are called "traceurs" or "tracers" or "pk" or "free runners"

What is le Parkour ?
Basicly, it's what you saw in the Yamakasi movie. Jumping around. Climbing everything. Choose your way, your path, don't deviate, just go straight forward, never stop.

It's the art of movement. The fusion between your mind and your body. The freedom in the huge gray prison we live in. Breaking non-written social and physical rules, doing what people never think of, choosing path people never saw.

I was already doing some urban exploration in Montréal, but this is (obvisouly different and) definitively more physical and it represents way more challenge. From the very first video, I was addicted. I started some training by myself last week, because I need muscular and flexibility results before starting for real. Hope I'll perform few tricks or medium height drops safely within the end of this summer.

Here's some videos I collected last week. Judge by yourself.

A.YOYE. C'est la panique TROP FRAIS

No way I'd be able to do any of this stuff, but seriously, WOW. Pat, t'es quand meme fou pour vouloir essayer ca. Qu'est-ce qui se passe quand t'essayes de sauter du toit d'un apart et tu rates l'atterissage? Un plongeon vers la mort

epi, I only linked the sickest videos, see the other vids in razernet.com/leparkour/ for more standard stuff

the guy that jumps from a roof to another is one of the founder of the sport, surely doing that full-time since he's born... at this time, he prolly jumped off the hands of the medic and started running hehe..
i'll never try something like that in my whole life

For the moment, I only want to master some of the vaults (http://razernet.com/leparkour/vault.wmv), especially the king kong one, and being able to drop 3~4 meters and roll forward..

you may bet for the day that I'll post a picture of my broken leg haha

so if i understand it correctly, rather then taking the obvious sidewalk to get to the bus stop, you wanna climb over buildings and do stunts.

what is the purpose of this lol

why don't you just become a gymnist and not kill yourself for no money

It's an art. It's creative self-expression. You don't need a purpose for every activity. You enjoy the activity in-itself.

Why skydive ?
IMO, it's just another way to get in shape mentally and physically, set goals and work hard to reach them. Alternative one i agree, that's why average people are afraid of that. Do not blind yourself with the extreme videos, look at the standard stuff... it's all performed as secure as possible.. a lot of training in gym before going in the wild is necessary...
yes there's always some crazy heads that will do dangerous stuff and hurt themselves, but hey... there's some in rollerblading and biking too...
