Question working the trance match -file conversion ?

hey,
about 6-8 mths ago i downloaded trance match album from technodron or etrance ? not sure which but the files came with unknown file extensions. I tried renaming them to a few common music extensions (ie .mp3 ect) but none of these were successful.

has anyone got any suggestions about what to do?

The extensions are all trance match.r01 ~.r02 ect through to ~r.10 ie tunes on the disc and there is one file with a trance match.rar

this has had me stumped for a while then i forgot about it now i thought i might ask you guys. can i attach the files to upload a couple?

cheers, jc

r.** file extensions are winrar files. Download winrar from shareware sites like www.zdnet.com. Or check my profile and I'll send you the full program

click on the rar files and if you see a *.rar, click on that file to uncompress them. If you don't see a *.rar and see *.r01 instead, click on that.

Are you talkin about System-f Vs Armin? If so, then it's quite a good cd.
Not really my fave taste, bit too cheesy, but good for a listen none the less!

yeah, TranceWave is right;

any file extension x## is an archive file.
Basically, your main archivers are WINRAR, WINACE and WINZIP (see a pattern forming? ) - You can download them all from http://www.download.com

First, you need a .rar .ace or .zip file which contains all archive information, and then a selection of .r01, .r02... etc to actually contain the data.

You'll find that all of the files are exactly the same size as each other - all apart from the last one, which will usually be less than the rest.

the trouble with archives is that you will be able to see *every*thing that you want to extract by just looking at the archive file, without even looking at the .x## files. So if any of the ## files is corrupt - you've got ure hopes up, but, you're screwed

any probs, pm me m8
